‘An Eye in Reserve’ book collaboration– Lee Miller Archives

As part of my MA Photography course I worked on book collaboration titled ‘An Eye in Reserve’ with the Lee Miller Archives. The title is taken from a text that Man Ray wrote to Lee Miller. It felt like a privilege to be sitting in Lee Millers old bedroom at Farleys House looking through her photographic archives. I was taken with several of her contact sheets and decided to make image pairings from them. I wanted to reduce my authorship and tap into Lee’s unconscious mind. Something I think that as a surrealist she would appreciate. Thanks to the Lee Miler Archives for allowing me to work on this fascinating project.
